MARCH

Debbie Berry

After many years of being active I found myself getting injured with weight lifting exercises. When I tried barre I was hooked! I still work on strength, cardio and endurance in a totally different way. I love the fact that stretching is a big part of each workout.

I love Hendersonville Barre because we are community! We cheer each other on and hold each other accountable. Hendersonville Barre has a very positive environment and I appreciate that.

Outside of working out, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to crochet, hike and bike.

I am the owner of 5th Avenue Salon and after 30 years of doing hair, I can still say I love what I do!

Why HVL Barre?

I was introduced to Hendersonville Barre by a very dear friend at a time when I needed a life reset.  Sarah & Rachel's infectious energy and the camaraderie with other participants made it a no-brainer.  I was stressed out when I started and I feel like another person today.

What do you love about Barre?

I love fitnes & dance, period.  Barre has been the challenge I had been looking for. It is not an easy class. I participated in ballet early in life and loved it. Pilates has been on a bucket list to get trained in for years and yoga is my relax and my wind down practice. I've needed to slow down and it has been the ultimate gift for myself in this season of life.

Who are you?

I am from Venezuela and have been in Hendersonville since 1998.  I was a fitness instructor, triathlete, & trainer for years.  I am a proud daughter, mother, wife, grandmother,  and a fearless advocate for my communityI LOVE fitness and I love Jesus!   My faith carries me every day.  I am blessed to be a part of the HVL Barre family. Thank you Sarah, Rachel and all the new friends for your love & support

HVL Barre and fitness: Sarah Barron and Rachel Nevill are incredible teachers and wonderful women who are building a positive, inclusive and beautiful community.  The teachers are all great. It is supportive, fun and non judgmental place to be.  I simply love taking classes here.

NANCY MITCHELL

Why do you like barre?  I like it for the challenge. It hits muscles that otherwise you would not be able to come close to strengthen.  It makes my other activities accessible due to the strength in the legs and core.  Plus I love the discipline  of group exercise that I would not do myself at home. I love the camaraderie. My hope is to age gracefully and barre is the exact antidote that I need to condition myself as well as my dancing.  The things that I love to do in my daily life that I thought were fading seem accessible again.

Why do you love HVL Barre? It’s a clean, bright studio. The instructors are extremely competent in the knowledge of barre technique.  The instruction is clear and always lighthearted and fun.

Who are you? I am grandma, A hiker, dancer.  And living my retired life to the fullest.

FRANCIENE MOROS

Why Do you love barre: I have been a gym rat since I was 18 years old, now 60, barre has changed my body more than any other type of exercise and I have done it all.  It helps me feel my best in my day to day, while working as a hair dresser.  Just the way it has you move your body and stretching makes you feel so good.

Why Do you love HVL Barre: I love being able to be a part of it from the beginning and watching the community come to life.  I literally cried when I heard there was a barre studio opening.  I love how Rachel and Sarah are so different, yet when they teach a class together it comes together in such a way and the energy they share, it just fits.  The Barre community is up lifting.

Who are you: I am a 60 year old wife, grandma, mom, and breast cancer survivor.  Every day is a gift and who have to make time to take care of yourself so you can love your babies, love your husband, and others.  Barre is 1st for me so I can give to everyone else.
